Testimonial: Recovering from Traumatic Brain
Injury
Making Great Strides
"My wife Lisa has helped me to write this
testimonial as I am still having some difficulty
putting my thoughts into writing. Please let us know
if this is adequate, we are happy to send more
detailed information if needed.
My initial visit at FirstHealth was in mid-October
of last year. This was a very frustrating time for
me, 5 months from the time I was injured and I was
still experiencing many more "valleys" than "peaks."
My speech therapist and neurologist were doing the
best that they could, but my wife and I were quite
concerned about my lack of progress. When my nurse
case manager told us that my employer suggested
complementary therapies, we were so relieved and
enormously grateful.
I can honestly say that my wife and I noticed the
effect of the acupuncture and craniosacral
immediately. I did not feel as "foggy" headed, my
mental confusion and slow speech were improving
along with many of the issues that I experienced
since the brain injury. Over time, my word finding,
memory, headaches, dizziness, cognitive function,
fatigue, light sensitivity and balance issues (to
mention a few) have greatly improved, and
we strongly believe this is a direct result of the
therapy I am receiving at FirstHealth of Andover. My
therapists along with the administrative staff are
both kind and professional, assuring that I am well
taken care of at all times.
Having daily access to the Alpha Stim has been such
a great help. I have been using it every day since I
received it and feel that it has helped to improve
my mental clarity, the fluidity of my speech, my
train of thought and also helped relax me during
this stressful time.
We can't begin to thank you for all of your help.
The amazing teamwork and communication that has
happened between FirstHealth and my employer, my
nurse case manager and everyone behind the scenes
has been such a blessing. Although I am still not
back to my baseline, I have made great strides and
am very pleased and grateful."
With sincere appreciation,
Dave and Lisa Kenerson
