Testimonial: Auricular Acupuncture
A Tailbone Injury Led to My Discovery of Non-Needle
Acupuncture
"My
first experience with acupuncture was for relief of
hot flashes and mood swings that come along with the
lovely changes that women experience during
menopause. FirstHealth of Andover actually made that
transition for me a very pleasant and uneventful
one. It never occurred to me that acupuncture would
actually help with pain and healing. However,
after taking a nice slip on the ice and a trip to
the emergency room, I decided to give it a try.
Being in the fitness industry, pain medication and
all kinds of physical restrictions was not the path
I wanted to go down. So I figured why not give
it a try. Well after the first sess ion,
I could actually feel the pain leaving my body and
knew that I had made the right choice. I
actually had what is called auricular acupuncture.
Because of my injury being near the tailbone and
coccyx (a hard area to get at), this was the option
that was presented to me. It was very cool.
You hold a probe in your hand while the practitioner
is at your ear with some sort of electric current
stimulating the point in my ear that corresponded to
the part of my body that was in trouble. It
was so relaxing I actually fell asleep!
I am thrilled that once again
I looked to FirstHealth for their help and once
again they were there for me!!"
