Even though your shape may tell the world something about the shape you're in, the magic way of beginning is very easy. Are you ready? Facts About Fitness

  • Muscles love to move. It helps their cells to breathe and keeps the toxic materials of the body from stacking up to cramp your style.
  • Getting oxygen into the right places deep inside the tissues is one way to prevent aches and pains, and even cancer.
  • Exercise causes the body to make endorphins, which can give you a sense of pleasure and satisfaction when you exercise. You like to feel good, right? Keep moving!

How to Begin

  • Warming up: A little stretching squeezes oxygen-rich blood into the muscles and prepares them for more demands with less chance of tearing or sprains.
  • Relaxation: Exercise is nothing to be tense about—unless your girdle is too tight!
  • Food: Fluids, not solid foods, are required even before a mild workout.

What Kind of Exercise?

Ideas? Walk a brisk mile daily; do your own version of aerobic dancing privately with the radio on; and don't forget the mini-trampoline—you will always get off it with more energy than when you got on! Anyone care to challenge that statement?
