Magnets: History
Pick up any magazine these days and you’ll notice that
many ads on the back pages involve the use of
magnets. However popular magnets may be today, the
use of magnets as medical tools are not a new fad.
Lodestones are natural magnetic rocks used by early
sailors for navigation purposes (lodestar or leading
star). Queen Cleopatra of Egypt was rumored to have
worn a lodestone on her forehead while she slept to
prevent wrinkles and aging.
Civilizations such as China, India, and Egypt used
magnets to treat ailments for centuries, and today
magnetic therapy has officially been accepted as a
medical procedure in Germany, Japan, Israel, Russia,
and 45 other countries.
In Oriental Medicine Oriental Medicine, magnets are
used to set up specific patterns of flow, similar to
using acupuncture, using the bioelectrical and
magnetic properties of qi. We have found therapeutic
magnets to be an excellent home treatment for such
conditions as arthritis, back pain, bursitis, carpal
tunnel, nausea, headaches, tennis elbow and much
more.
Before using therapeutic magnets, check with your
acu-pro or family physician to avoid buying an
ineffective product or a contraindication for a
medical device such as a pacemaker.
