Doubt Turns to Diligence: A Successful Team Approach
for Low Back Pain

"Dear Dave,
I’d like to take this
opportunity to “thank you” for the treatment that
you’ve provided me for my back pain. As you
well know, I was pessimistic during our initial
meeting. I had no knowledge that you could
possible help, and to be honest, I only went to
satisfy my wife.
My back pain was
something I had experienced for many years. I’ve
been told by one of my physicians that I have some
arthritis in my back and had learned to live with
it. Through the years we purchased many different
types of pillows (i.e., back sleeper, full body,
etc.). We also changed our mattress numerous times,
and a few years ago purchased The Sleep Number
Bed. The bed helped somewhat; however, I always
dreaded lying down at night as that is when my back
would case pain. It not only interrupted my sleep,
I would awake in the morning, pounding my lower back
with my fist.
I recall being told that
the back pain may have been the result of wearing a
gun belt as a police officer for 33+ years; however,
that is all behind me now that I’ve retired, as I
ride off towards the horizon and ponder my future.
To reiterate my
knowledge of acupuncture is limited, further I’m not
certain as to how it alleviates pain. I only know
now that it does and for that I’m extremely grateful
to you for the treatment that you have provided me.
And I’ll do my best not to “boomerang.”
Dave, I’d truly
appreciate it if you would confer my appreciation to
Donna Schneider as well; you were right … Donna was
very helpful in teaching me how to do specific core
exercises to help strengthen abdominal muscles as
well as others. I have felt a difference already.
My back pain is gone, and I’m standing more erect.
I now realize that I need to concentrate on the
specific muscle I’m working on.
In closing, I’d like to
thank you again, as well as all the fine
professionals associated with FirstHealth of
Andover. My experience was one that was of a truly
positive nature, and I would highly recommend
FirstHealth of Andover to anyone suffering with
pain."
