Insurance Coverage
Does Insurance
Cover Acupuncture?
Over the years, we've happily verified your
insurance coverage to see whether it pays for any of
our services. Historically about a third of
insurance companies paid, plus worker's compensation
and PIP (if you've been in an automobile accident).
We know how important it is to use the insurance
you've already paid for, and my office has strived
to work efficiently to make the business side of our
relationship smooth and effortless. The recent
studies--combined with public support--show a clear
trend for more insurance companies to cover our
acupuncture services.
Many companies ask more work for less reimbursement
and have suggested we see between 4-6 people per
hour to balance the finances. They said if we did
not join them others would, and our patients would
leave us. Many of us have voiced concerns at this
type of practice. Many of your other healthcare
providers are under the same kind of system.
We've often heard from you that the time we take to
fully listen to your concerns, discuss the
complexities of your systems, and work with you to
begin a goal-oriented comprehensive plan is a strong
reason you've chosen this style of medicine. We will
continue to keep you informed about this topic. Our
office will continue to verify your coverage and
accept reimbursement from your companies. We have
also joined many of the discount programs and
preferred provider plans to get you coverage, so
continue to let us know which plans you have. We
have also resigned from plans when we believe they
compromise our standard of care for you. We are
committed to assisting you in your family's
education and health.
